Liberty Jail

Traditions at Liberty Jail the night before transfers, is they dress up and have a special meeting.  I had to share these on Sister Bitters blog because I know it will be something she will cherish from her memories of serving in Liberty...

Week 28 - Liberty Jail

This week has been Crazy and I had to wait till Thursday to tell you all about it:)

So I am a Mom! I have the cutest Baby(companion) she is from Arizona and I think she came out already trained. We get along really well and both just want to work so hard.

I just love being a missionary. Time is flying by and I'm just trying to take it all in.

AMAZING NEWS! The person that we have been working with is on date for Sept. 22
He was really stubborn to set a date and wanted to have it October 20. Well we just left it at that because we were just happy he finally expected a date. Then I prayed about his date and Sept. 22 kept coming up and felt right and same with my companion so we met with him the next day and told him everything. Our concerns and fears with that far away date. He was so understanding and said that Sept 22 was good and that he would be baptized on that date. Some thing that I love about my mission is how unified we are. One of us gets a baptism the whole mission gets a baptism. We are all in this together:) Our goal for the month of July was 23 baptisms and we got 44. This month we set a goal for 34 and we had 17 baptisms last week and 15 this week! The work is hastening and I'm just so excited to be apart of it.

Amazing Miracle that happened this week, Sister Ireland and me, have been trying to act upon every prompting that we get. No mater how small or big. Or if we thought it was just us or the Holy Ghost. We just decided that no matter what, we were going to act upon it. guess what.... IT WORKED! My testimony just continues to grow every single day. It was amazing, last night when we were out tracking acting upon promptings,  I prayed for success and I prayed that the people would be placed in our path, and they were. Heavenly Father wants to give you everything he can so you can succeed. He just wants you to ask. Heavenly Father expects success and so should we.

Something that I have learned from the jail this week:) The jail was declared escape proof. 4 foot thick walls, no door handles on the inside so even the guards were locked in, barely any light. This jail made me really think about our own trials in life. Escape proof and Hopeless. But what is truly amazing about this jail is that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ made it through the 4 foot thick walls and walked right through those locked doors. You are never out of there reach. No matter how far you feel like you have fallen or how dark you feel they can always get to you. Their hands are constantly stretched out for you. I love serving at the jail. The jail is here today for us. To learn and grow from and I am definitely learning new things every day.
 So grateful for the jail.

Well I love you all so much and Remember that you are never ever alone.

Week 27 - Liberty Jail

Hello everyone that I love so dearly!

Today has been crazy busy full of meetings and appointments. Yes, it's my p-day but the work never stops !! :)

I have been called as a trainer! I am freaking out but I also beyond excited. I find out Thursday who I'm training and where I will be! Super exciting!! and lucky me I get to meet all of the new missionaries because they come to the jail. Perks for serving at the jail! 😂

This week has been fast and just full of tender mercies and miracles!
Our investigator is progressing so much! We had an amazing lesson with him and he really started to open up about things and really wants to be baptized. On Sunday Sister Anderson and I fasted for him and he also fasted. He was also able to attend the "New Convert Devotional" that President Love had that day. Unfortunately, we couldn't go because we were on shift at the jail :( But we saw him after and he was glowing! He said he could feel the spirit so strong the whole time ❤ so amazing! Sunday was just an incredible day, many answers to my prayers. I can testify that prayer works and Heavenly Father is aware and hears your prayers. Just in his own way :)

Sorry for the short email this week! I love you all and I promise next week I'll tell you more about life here in ZION!
