Week - Thirteen

Hey Hey Hey it's me again! Wow the weeks are just flying by and I'm still in love with Missouri and the amazing people! Here's a little run down of my week :)

Monday:
We definitely needed today to just chill and relax (P-Day), and it was great, but at 6 o-clock we  are right back to missionary work :).  We had dinner at the Bryson's and they made healthy chicken nuggets, they were amazing and they were Keto friendly, so win win for me! Riglee is the youngest of the Bryson's and she calls me her bestie ❤ I love her and her family so much!

We then had a lesson with Stacey and Melanie :) it was an amazing lesson and the spirit was definitely present and strong, which made it so much better!  Stacey started opening up to us and she wants us to start coming twice a week instead of once.  You definitely can see her starting to grow. I asked her and Melanie what's one thing right now that you can do to draw nearer to your Heavenly Father ?  Stacey with no hesitation said, "I need to start praying and reading the Book of Mormon!" Oh my, I was so happy and I knew the spirit was getting to her ❤❤❤❤ Melanie said "that she wants to become more like the Savior and do as he does"!  They are both growing and I get to be a part of it!  Missionary work is amazing and I feel so blessed and honored to be here !!

Tuesday:
So today was a service day :) But first we started our morning by running at the community center, it was there we met this guy named Bob,  he told us that we are more then welcome to come over to his house as long as we weren't like the Jehovah witnesses. He didn't like them but he likes us :) We are just trying to find out more details on him and where exactly he lives.

It was then time to go to the food pantry, today we helped unload the delivery truck for about 2-3 hours, which is always fun! There's a volunteer there named Barb and she's like the head person and everyone is kinda scared of her because she is sorta mean to people, but she loves me so bonus: )

Then Dennis (the guy that had us over for easter...potential) invited us to the salad lunch fundraiser at his church,  we went but we were kinda scared, because we were expecting it to be his church and us being LDS missionaries๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿค™ but it wasn't! It turns out that it's the annual community fundraiser put on every year for a cancer foundation. So it was really cool,  it was actually really fun!  It was themed "Beauty and the Beast" they had dressed up characters walking around.  We are going to have dinner with Dennis on Saturday!  So we are super pumped about that :) His wife Patricia and him, are the sweetest people you will ever meet and were hoping and praying they open their hearts to the spirit and our message.

We then went to help Pam (Sister Bryson), she hasn't been feeling good and it was Annie's 16 birthday.  We went over and made a birthday lunch board for Pam, it was a lot of fun and it turned out to be such a cute idea! I'm going to keep it in mind for future little ones :) haha

Wednesday:
A day of craziness and blessings! We started our morning like everyday at the community center and then come home and planned out our day.  Well we were supposed to have dinner with some of my favorite people ❤ aka the Harlans, but she had to cancel because something came up last minute, she insisted that we come out and get money from her for dinner and you don't say no to Sister Harlan.  We asked what time she wanted us to come out and she said right now.... So we went and hopped back in our car and drove out to there cute country home and ended up spending 2 hours with her. She was telling us story after story about some really neat experiences. I found out today that when you get her talking, there is no stopping her :) It was great and making time for the members when they need it is important. at this time she needed us to go run an errand for her, it was important and she couldn't do it.  we were happy to help,  as we were leaving to run the errand, we got a phone call from Alyssa, she needed to change her lesson too today, we already had a lot planned, but hey it feels good to be busy.  We shuffled things around to make it work for her ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ let's just say we had to do companionship study in the car while we were running around doing service for Sister Harlan before our lessons.  Well everything went perfectly and timing just fell into place.  We went over to Alyssa to teach her it went well, gave her a Book of Mormon, and invited her to go to Institue we us that evening.  We then went and had another amazing lesson with Stacey and Melanie.  We are starting to meet with them twice a week, one day we will read 2 chapters of the Book of Mormon and the other day we will read a chapter from gospel principles. Today we read out of the Book of Mormon. It was an amazing lesson and Stacey just continues to open up, I can see her growing in faith every time we meet. Keep her in your prayers that she will start to feel ready for baptism.

We were planing on going to institute with Alyssa, but she forgot so we had nothing scheduled for the night. So Sister Payne and I, had a feeling to go and try to contact this referral that we have been trying to contact. Well we could not find her and she wasn't answering her phone. We were in the complex where we thought she lived, so we just felt like we should stay and do some door knocking. Well after a few doors we found Kylee she's awesome and we gave her a Book of Mormon and we are going back Sunday!  Yay

Alyssa has said earlier that it was funny that she has never seen us tracking over in her neighborhood. So after we had met Kylee we decide to go over to Alyssa's area.  When we got there, we come to a 4 way stop, there were no cars around so we parked and I said a prayer for guidance. Right after the prayer Payne said "what was the first thing that came to your mind" I said go right. So she went right, we had passed this complex before, but had not tracked here. So we pulled in and parked, it felt right. We walked in and had another decision, up or down. Well we stopped, I heard kids, it was coming from the apartment down stairs. I pointed to go down, we then heard the Disney movie Pocahontas and Payne and I looked at each other, smiled and knocked on the door. The movie stopped and they said who is it,  we said we were Sister Missionaries ๐Ÿ˜‚ and they said COME IN!  Well, we will now be seeing Cody and Dominique on Saturday! The spirit will truly lead and guide you❤

Thursday:
What a day! We had this referral for a women named Martha, she had requested a Book of Mormon and for missionaries to come over and share more about it.  We had been trying to get a hold of her for a couple of days now, with out any luck.   After our dinner appointment we were heading home to do some weekly planning.  On our way home Sister Payne said should we try calling Martha again, I said yes, good idea, but hey even better doesn't she live just back down the road a bit. Sister Payne agreed, let's just go try her at home, well when we got there Martha was outside, we told her who we were and that we had got her request for a Book of Mormon.  She invited us into her house where her adorable two little girls and her husband. We taught them the restoration and they are amazing.  Sister Payne had a prompting to schedule another appointment with them for tomorrow night and they are planning on coming to church on Sunday and want to continue meeting with us and learn more.  Also do you guys remember Slaton? We had him on date for a time in April but then he totally fell off the face of the earth and we could never get a hold of him.  Well he's back! He texted us tonight and told us that he has been going through some really hard times lately and started to turn back to the gospel and started reading the Book of Mormon, he wants to be part of the church!  So we are going to start working with him again and will set up a new baptismal date with him:) I truly believe that Slaton had to go through what he has been, to gain a testimony of his savior and desire for the gospel, he has that now and he is truly ready!

Friday:
ZONE CONFERENCE! - Was amazing as usual and I definitely came out with a lot. I want to apply and continue to develop and grow. This zone conference was extremely powerful and bold.  They gave us a challenge today to go and commit someone to be baptized. Sister Payne and I look at each other and both knew exactly who we were going to ask.  After zone conference we drove home and had an amazing lesson with Alyssa!  I love her so much and she is so solid!  She pushed her baptism date back to the 19th of May because some family members will be out of town on the 12th. So we're still really excited about that and to see her faith grow. Then we had our lesson with Martha and her husband, Fas!  Sister Payne and I invited them both to be baptized and they said yes !!!!!! Oh my, I truly love them so much! They are preparing to be baptized on May 19❤ another really cool experience with them is that they are Micronesian, we asked Fas to say the closing prayer and he did it in Chuukese! his native tongue So cool, we gave them a Chuukese Book of Mormon's as well to understand more. They understand English but it's harder for them to read it,  I'm so grateful we had some Chuukese Book of Mormon in the trunk! Heavenly Father truly prepares the hearts of the people.  I'm going to try and learn Chuukese... So wish me luck๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Saturday:
Today had some great moments but with sad turns. We started the morning off with a community walk which is called the "crop walk" it's to raise awareness and money for the food pantry and the women shelter. It was way fun and a lot of the crowd was from our church! The people are amazing and Sister Payne and I placed two Book of Mormons and talked to many others, super fun and I got a work out in :) Then we had a lesson with Cody and Dominique but when we showed up we heard them behind the door telling their daughter to tell us that her parents weren't there even when she already told us they were home. So that hurt :( I wish people would just be straight up with us but, hey it's part of the mission:) We then had dinner with Dennis and his wife Patricia! I love them both and they love us. They are the ones that we went over too for Easter and they are potentials... Well they were. We spent the rest of the evening with them just growing closer and creating a good relationship and to make it more comfortable to bring up the gospel. We went fishing and fed there horses and ate dinner. You could kinda tell they were trying to keep us busy so we wouldn't share a message. So on our way out Sister Payne said is it okay if we leave something with you and asked them if they had ever heard of the Book of Mormon.  Without much hesitation they looked at each other and said yes we have and we aren't interested.  It felt like a knife to the heart :( people that I loved so much turn down something that I love so much. But it's okay we can't force anything and we all have our agency and it's better for us to know and to move on. I think we might spend a P-day with them or something and just show love and be an example.

Sunday:
Amazing Sabbath❤ we had Alyssa at church and some less actives which is amazing and I love seeing them!

I love you all so much and love hearing about life back home❤ remember that you're all amazing and Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love you so much!  As a mission we are having the 90 days to come unto Christ challenge! 90 days till our next Zone Conference and we are going to memorize the living Christ! I'm excited and this zone conference is going to be a little different. We are going to have a half zone conference day and then we As a zone with president are going to go to the temple! I'm so excited and can't wait to grow even closer with my Savior! I love him so much and can feel his love for all of you! Stay strong❤
